Optometric Device
This project was given by a medical equipment manufacturing company, with a portable eye testing equipment which is a digital non-mydriatic fundus camera, equipped with an efficient workflow to capture high-resolution images of the human eye.
Challenges observed during this project: The project is related to the medical industry and material needed to be biocompatible when it comes in contact with human skin or body parts. This project was required to be completed in a tight timeline of 2 weeks. It was for a first look and design approval. The enclosure required to be painted in two colours with a Glossy & Matte finish combination.
Processes involved during this project: A full unit is completed using two processes, Vacuum Casting and SLA (Stereolithography). The large parts like body and panels were made from VC process whereas the small intricate parts were done in SLA process. For the small intricate parts, the DLP process is also suitable.
Portable Ultra-sound Machine
When it comes to the Healthcare industry, almost any prototyping process can be used to manufacture the required parts, but the main challenge every time is the aesthetic look. For that, there are many things to be taken into consideration like the mating surface details and the fit-form-function is always there in such projects.
Challenges observed during this project: Challenges observed in such projects are achieved by considering the design features to be Plastic Injection Molding quality instead of Vacuum Casting quality, which means the design & the master pattern post-processing is performed at that high level where the difference between these two processes would be almost none.
Processes involved during this project: The Vacuum Casting plays an important role in the rapid prototyping industry where we can achieve Plastic Injection Molding part quality with a significant amount of project value investment savings compared to Injection Molding which has a high investment in both – time as well as money. DLP (Digital Light Processing) as well as Vacuum Casting both the processes can satisfy Healthcare industries requirements.
